Meri Fatin

Meri Fatin
Meri is an experienced MC, interviewer, facilitator and podcaster specialising in finding the deeper story. She develops rapport through solid research and preparation. Whether itís a one on one interview, a panel discussion or MC work, before the event Meri invests considerable preparation time. Her aim is to elicit a fresh experience for both interviewees and audience alike.

Formerly a producer of news and current affairs radio at ABC Perth, Meri's clients have included the Perth Writers Festival, The Department of Culture and the Arts WA, PICA, writingWA, International Women's Day Hall of Fame and the Disrupted Festival of Ideas, additionally Pan MacMillan with her interview of the no.1 New York Times bestseller author, Liane Moriarty.

Meri's Rare Air podcast features one-on-one long form interviews revealing the remarkable stories of people whose lives may never make front page news, but whose experiences are diverse and engaging. Recently, in a break with form, Meri added a conversation with Dr Michael Mosley, whose work in empowering us to take charge of our health she finds truly admirable.

In 2015/16 Meri was senior producer for the Perth International Arts Festivalís collaboration with Londonís Empathy Museum, called A Mile in My Shoes.

Meri's skills go beyond broadcast though. They find the unique stories within your business and convey them with authenticity to your clients and customers. They workshop better relationships in your team using empathic conversation.

Through PICAís Spark_Lab program, in 2016 Meri spent time with students from Warnbro Community High School as they developed their media skills. Meri can work with your school or business to do the same, and as an experienced podcaster, she can help bring your podcast ideas to life too.

Additionally, Meri can add music to her repertoire, she has been a volunteer presenter at RTRFM 92.1 since 2000, arriving back in Perth from Sydney, having done a radio training course at 2RRR and a stack of hours on tiny narrowcast station Bondi FM. Meri has spent several years presenting talks show Morning Magazine once a week as well as coordinating the women in music program Drastic on Plastic. At the moment she presents Drastic about once every two months and drops in to record an interview ( more recently, feminist Clementine Ford and singer Neneh Cherry) once in a while.
