Chosen to support Marcia Hines for a 2008 concert at The Vines, Ali has a long list of admirers and is seen performing regularly at some of Perth’s hottest venues since 1996 with her duo, trio, quartet and quintet lineups. The trio features Ali Bodycoat on vocals, Graham Wood on piano (or keys) and Sam Anning on bass—arguably amongst Perth’s finest jazz musicians.

Testament to Ali’s smooth vocals is her astonishing 12 year residency at the ever popular Subiaco Hotel. You can usually catch her there on Wednesday nights with her acclaimed trio. On weekends, there is a good chance she’ll be dishing out the tunes at Zanders Bar & Restaurant in Scarborough, so if you are after a sneaky peak at one of Perth’s hottest jazz talents—it’s worth checking her out over a great meal at either venue.

Other venues have included The Perth Jazz Society, Greenwich, Jazz Fremantle, Fly By Night Musicians Club, and bars and restaurants such as the Red Herring, Plantation Estate, the Claremont Hotel, Reveley’s, Phillimore’s, The Universal Bar, and the Luxxe Bar.
