Steve Armstrong - Cotton Club
Take a step back in time to the era of the Cotton Club with Steve Armstrong’s brilliant tributes to jazz greats such as Louis Armstrong and Al Jolson. Commencing with cigarette girls wandering through the audience, a sound of machine guns and air raid sirens signals the start of the show. Tap dancers rhythmically appear on stage and join Steve in the enormously popular song 42nd Street. Steve then pays tribute to Al Jolson with Mammie and Rock-A-Bye Your Baby. This is followed by a Dixie medley and the famous Cab Calloway audience participation number, Minnie the Moucher.
With female vocalists, gansters and dancers, Steve Armstrong presents the exciting and entertaining ''A Night at the Cotton Club''.
The dynamic vocalist Tallulah enters the stage and performer with the gangsters and dancers, climaxing with a show stopping version of Putting on the Ritz, ''All That Jazz'', The Charleston and Miss Celie’s Blues. Steve returns to the stage You Made Me Love You and If My Friends Could See Me Now. Steve transforms into Louis Armstrong with a medley of Mack The Knife, Hello Dolly and When The Saints Go Marching In. The entire cast converge to perform the show’s finale, a reprise of 42nd Street.
