Chris Murphy Band

A professional musician with 12 years experience, 4 original album releases, national TV appearances and numerous song writing awards under his belt, Chris Murphy delights audiences from all walks of life whenever and wherever he plays!

Growing up in Albany in south-Western Australia, Chris Murphy began piano lessons at the age of eleven later learning guitar and began playing in bands at the age of 16.

Chris gained first national attention following the Perth auditions on Australian Idol 2006 by singing one of his original compositions “World and Universe”.

He went on to become a finalist and became a crowd favourite with stand-on-your-chair-and-punch-the-air “touchdown” performance of the Stevie Wright Australian rock anthem “Evie Part One”.

Before Australian Idol Chris was well known as the lead singer of Murphy’s Lore. He has now released his own self titled cd and performs as either a soloist or as part of the four piece Chris Murphy Band.

Chris’s love of rock and roll and enjoyment at performing is infectious. Whether it be a laid back acoustic performance or a full on band show, Chris delivers a passionate and fun performance.
