Gerry Connolly

Gerry Connolly, comedian, actor and impressionist, is acknowledged as one of the foremost performers in Australia. His hilarious impersonations of royalty, retiring superstars and recalcitrant politicians enthral audiences with their warm, yet gleefully wicked humour.

An extremely versatile performer, Gerry Connolly is masterful at hosting or addressing a function. His satirical caricatures include Margaret Thatcher, Bill Collins, Sir Joh Bjelke Peterson, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Dame Joan Sutherland and, of course, Her Majesty The Queen. In the role of a famous celebrity guest, he often also fields questions from his audience - with riotous response!

Further gifted as a concert pianist Gerry has performed as a soloist with the Melbourne, Queensland and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, in concerts that have been televised across Australia and Great Britain.

Gerry Connolly is recognised nationally from his appearances at prestigious functions and his television work, having made speeches at televised events, including the 1990 TV Week Logie Awards and recently on the ABC. He is widely acclaimed across Australia and has had great success at the Melbourne and Adelaide Comedy Festivals as well as the International Edinburgh Festival with his one-man shows. In 1986 he received the Wallace Comedian Of The Year Award.

A great favourite at launches, functions or corporate events, Gerry Connolly tailors his characters’ mood and material to fit the occasion. Whether making an address to a gathering or merely gracing an event with a royal or famous presence, he educates his subjects with charm, whilst reducing them to extreme states of laughter.
