Jussy Roberts is a Perth born singer /songwriter. Her style is contemporary, folk with some aspects of pop. She writes songs reflecting on personal experiences but also from the eyes of those around her.
She plays piano and performs solo gigs at many venues around Western Australia. Her vocals have been described as sweet, melodic and haunting. Her original songs are heartfet and soulful.
She works as a full-time musician playing music at events, wineries and weddings. Although she includes cover songs in her setlist she aims to create them into something with an original sound and feel.
Jussy began writing and performing with her brother 16 years ago. This led to the formation of The Red Embers who released an EP in 2012 'Tsunami.' After many years of performing with the 5-piece band went their separate ways.
Jussy has since gone on an independent journey of self development and creativity aiming to make music a huge part of her work and motivation. In 2017 she formed a band 'Sweet Magenta' and released a self-titled EP which was showcased at The Paddington Alehouse in February of that year.
In 2016 Jussy auditioned for WAAPA and spent the next 2 years studying the Advanced Diploma of Music (Performance) graduating in 2018. Over her 2 years at WAAPA she developed her skills in songwriting and recording and has independently written and recorded an album in her recording studio. Jussy has released several singles independently including 'Saviour', 'Beyond Your Relflection' and most recently 'Counting Waves' which are available on all streaming services.
The whole process she calls her art and in April 2020, Jussy released her album 'Raindance'. 'Raindance' the title track of the album is a song inspired by the hardships of drought. Passionate about preserving wildlife Jussy aims to raise much needed funds for charities after the devastation of the recent bushfires that engulfed Australia.
